Sciant to open new Varna office
Eastern Europe's fastest growing IT outsourcing company is opening a large new office in Varna to take advantage of the large number of skilled people in the region.
The Swiss-owned company writes software for foreign companies including Ford, DHL, General Motors, Swiss Post, Aonix, Scaletools, Siemens, Nortel and Westbridge.
Sciant partner Kiril Karaatanasov said the new office is part of the company's expansion plan which will see Sciant double in size in two years. The new office aims to open by Christmas and will eventually provide 50 jobs.
"At the moment we will need an area manager and java developers," Karaatanasov said. "But there are plans to open a testing facility in the region too."
He said that currently Varna programmers had to leave the town if they wanted to further their careers.
"Sciant opening this office in Varnia means that programmers can stay with their families and friends and not have to move to Sofia to receive international experience," Karaatanasov said.
Sciant sees the move as an investment in the Varna region, he added. Karaatanasov is holding a Job Fair at the Nymph Hall, Hotel Aqua (near the Central station),
12 Devnya Street, Varna, on Saturday October 30
2-6pm. Karaatanasov said it was a bid to meet as many Java programmers in the town as possible.
It is a good chance for us to show what our company is like and how good it is to work for us," he said.
